How to use video to gif
- Choose a compatible file, drag it into the workbench, paste an image where supported, or use the included sample.
- Review the preview and adjust the available settings. Changes are rendered from decoded pixels, not simulated.
- Export the result. PixelForge assigns the correct MIME type, extension and dimensions.
Supported formats
Browser-decodable video input; animated GIF output.
Real limitations
GIF output is capped at 150 frames and 15 fps to control browser memory. GIF has no audio and uses a reduced color palette.
Privacy and accessibility
Media processing stays in this tab. The surrounding controls are keyboard-accessible and expose numeric inputs, but visual canvas content itself has limited screen-reader semantics.
Frequently asked questions
Does PixelForge upload my file?
No. This tool uses browser APIs and downloaded JavaScript. No media or filename is sent to PixelForge.
Why can support differ between browsers?
Image and video decoding and encoding depend on the browser, operating system and device codecs. The workbench fails clearly when the requested encoder is unavailable.
